I’m late to this, but it’s still funny nonetheless. Applachian State U. apparently did this video for a campus(alumni?) event and has since received some unexpected publicity from the effort.

Here’s good video on the efforts to collect and analyze “microgenetic” data on student learning, i.e. datatmining on digitial learning footprints. As Dr. Dede stated in the end of his presentation, this is definitely a two edge sword.

As we work to extend the functionality of our portal with external resources and applications, the answer to this question is important. In all reality there’s probably room for both MS and Google; and we will choose functionality that is applicable to our needs and can be supported (integrated), but it makes sense to align current efforts and identify priorities as best we can in order to insure agility when opportunity presents itself.  Here’s a good article from eweek on direction of OpenSocial.
